As adventures go, you can’t get much more silly than open water swimming in England in April!

We were lucky enough to be joined by Tom Whitfield, head of international sales at Huub, purveyors of wetsuits, Tri gear and swimming kit, for a swim in Marine Lake in Weston-super-Mare for a refreshing dip to test out a couple of the company’s new wetsuits.

It was definitely a 2 swim hat day, but the water was calm and the weather mild…the water did take your breath away when you first jumped in though!

We lasted a grand total of about 20 minutes, but we took the Go-Pro with us so made a little film which we’re hoping to edit and get up here before long, so watch this space.

Happy to report that the Huub Archimedes II and the Varga goggles which I tried were super comfortable and the flexibility was superb, really allowing the shoulders to move freely and making the swim feel easy, despite the Baltic conditions…top marks!!

More open water swims planned in the build up to a few upcoming triathlon races, I just hope that the sun comes out and warms the water up a tiny bit 😳
