It is now two weeks since I took part in the inaugural Clevedon Triathlon. What a great day! The weather was warm and even Clevedon Marina was a barmy 18 degrees – some competitors swam without wetsuits but I wasn’t that brave! I was in the penultimate wave and had a fair swim which was spoilt by not being able to get out of the water. The carpet put down on the exit was floating on the top of the water and I fell over it before climbing out of the side. A long run into T1, wetsuit off, bike kit on then off we go onto the roads of Clevedon. A great bike course although being in a later wave, the roads were getting busy and I was forced to stop a few times along the skinny roads to let cars past. Back into T2 then onto the run course which took us along Poets Walk which is steep and uneven in places and running up steps within the first minute was a little challenging on the legs. All in all, a tough 5km run but the views were fantastic.

I ended up 11 out of 29 ladies and 2nd in my age group. Not my favourite distance so very happy with that!

So Marc has been keeping us very busy over the last couple of weeks but as the end of term is fast approaching, time for some more miles before my favourite triathlon in Bideford.
